Spooky fog on Halloween

This Halloween, anticyclonic conditions were in place and the atmospheric profile was just right for the formation of fog on the low-lying areas of the Swiss Plateau and Lake Geneva region. This allowed for a quite spooky ambiance in Versoix and nearby woods where tree silhouettes seemed to appear out of the fog from nowhere and where the remaining fall colors attempted to nevertheless stand out in an otherwise colorless gray backdrop. The mysterious and scary atmosphere of Halloween was definitely in the air with bats, ghosts and goblins not far off...
